About — mykytashaban.dev
Mykyta Shaban is a Frontend Performance Engineer based in Wroclaw, Poland. Focused on Core Web Vitals, e-commerce performance, and making the web faster.
I'm Mykyta Shaban, a senior frontend developer based in Wroclaw, Poland. Originally from Ukraine.
I've spent several years building frontend applications with React and modern JavaScript. My current focus is web performance — understanding what makes pages slow, how to measure it properly, and how to fix it in a way that actually holds up in production.
My day job involves working on a checkout SDK — code that runs inside other companies' e-commerce sites. Checkout is one of the most performance-sensitive surfaces on the web. A slow checkout costs money, directly and measurably. That context made performance feel concrete rather than theoretical.
What I focus on
- Core Web Vitals — measurement, diagnosis, and improvement of LCP, CLS, and INP
- JavaScript performance — bundle analysis, parse time, runtime bottlenecks
- E-commerce and checkout — where performance has direct business impact
- Rendering patterns — SSR, streaming, islands architecture, partial hydration
- Real user monitoring — field data, percentiles, understanding real-world conditions
This blog
I write to document what I learn. Clear notes from real work, not textbook theory. If something helped me understand a concept or fix a problem in production, it's worth writing about.
